If drawing on the walls at home is a no-no, drawing on the walls at a museum is a massive don't-even-think-about-it. Or it was, until the playful design duo behind Matheny Studio teamed up with Melbourne's National Gallery of Victoria to create a new on-site space where kids can strap on crayon studded helmets, shoes, and all kinds of wacky gear and go completely nuts. All. Over. Everything.
A new bill proposed by Republican Bob Latta could stop the Federal Communications Commission from reclassifying broadband as a common-carrier utility.
T-Mobile has setup another Uncarrier event for June 18 in Los Angeles. This will be their fifth such event, hence the name Uncarrier 5.0. Previously on the John Legere show, we've seen T-Mobile offer to pay your ETF from AT&T, Sprint or Verizon, Introduce their Jump! program, give everyone free international roaming and offer free LTE data for your tablet. It seems to be working for them, as they have seen actual subscriber growth and increased their revenue by almost 28-percent.
We've no idea what to expect in LA next month, but we hope Shikira is involved somehow.
Apple will be bringing the 8GB version of the iPhone 5c to India in the coming weeks. During Apple's Q2 2014 conference call, CEO Tim Cook said that Indian iPhone sales had more than doubled. India is an emerging market where many of the "next billion" smartphone customers are expected to come from, and getting a lower cost version of Apple's pop-art-inspired mid-tier iPhone makes a lot of sense. Especially for customers who don't need to cary around a lot of media with them but do want access to messaging apps and the mobile web.
The 8GB iPhone 5c first launched back in March in the U.K, and later expanded to several other countries in eastern and western Europe. There's been no word yet on U.S availability.
The iPhone 5s remains the big movie blockbuster that gets everyone lining up, but the iPhone 5c is the hit TV show that's there week-in, week-out to catch the eye of anyone walking by.
If you're in India and have been debating an iPhone 5c, will a new, less expensive iPhone 5c appeal to you?
Did you bring the stuff?
A video posted by actor Tyrese Gibson featuring hip-hop star Dr. Dre is adding fuel to $3.2 billion Apple/Beats negotiation rumors. In the video, Dre says:
"The first billionaire in hip-hop, right here from the motherf**king West Coast."
The video in question was originally posted to Gibson's Facebook page but was taken down, though it's still available on YouTube. Note that there's strong language so do proceed to watch through if you're not easily offended.
Beats Electronics is in an interesting position. Not only would Apple take control of its premium (arguably overpriced) headgear accessories, but also its new Beats Music on-demand streaming service. With Apple already heavily invested in the music industry, it would appear as a wise move to snap up a streaming service to compete against the likes of Google Play Music and Xbox Music, but we're still unsure what the plans are.
